Stitch N Pitch Yarn Along

Our local minor league ball team held a stitch n pitch event last night! We had a lot of fun. Brian and Maddie got to watch the game while I got to visit with the knitters down the row. We all had a laugh because almost everyone had socks to work on! Not only are they easy and portable but on a 90 degree day they are cooler than almost anything else you might be knitting and holding in your lap. At one point a man down the row got out his drop spindle and did some spinning also! They had goody bags (swag bags?) for us when we arrived. It included hats for all 3 of us (I purchased 3 tickets at the stitch n pitch price), 3 crochet hooks and 3 little balls of yarn. I'm not sure exactly what to do with those little balls of yarn! Maybe they will just sit around and look cute. They also gave us yearbooks for the team. Our seats were right behind home plate! The game was a good one, close but our home team won. All around a great night!

Our team is located in Troy, the home of Uncle Sam!

No, I've no idea who those kids are...I was trying to get a picture of my knitting and the game which, obviously, was not working out too well!

Maddie and I are still reading Red Tails in Love and enjoying it quite a bit while I am trying to finish up the last (well, latest!) book in the Outlander series. I am glad I went back and re-read it through because the last book is now making much more sense to me than the last time I read it. I have Robinson Crusoe waiting in the wings and reading a little bit of it here and there so I will have read it ahead of Maddie.

Have you had any fun knitting outings lately?

  1. What a great idea! Love the colours in your knitting.
I am just about to start the Outlander series - being, I think, the only person anywhere on Yarn Along who hasn't read the series! I am so looking forward to it.

  2. I wish they still did Stitch and Pitch up here by us. They did it for years but then stopped. I'm going to see our local team tonight and yes, I will be bringing a sock.

I must get better at sock knitting.
This is my first Yarn Along. I see what I've been missing!

  5. Aw, tiny balls of yarn! Love your socks - I finally got some yarn to make my partner socks, so I better figure out how to make them next!

  6. Thank you!! I forgot to mention that the yarn is from Knitpicks. Its Felici in Gummi Bear which is no longer available. They release it for short periods of time! If you keep your eyes open it might pop up again. I think it should be Popsicle though not gummi bear!
