Drum roll......Maddie is finally (emphasis by Maddie) old enough to actually work at the State Fair! Unfortunately there is only so much time off parentals can take so we only went for the weekend. Perhaps we can stay longer next year! We ended up driving the county van out so we could bring back another 4H teen and all the Schenctady County projects. We had a lot of fun and now know the lay of the land better...changes will be made for next year's trip!! Here are the photos...
Maddie's job was to show the Virtual Reality masks to the public. Google donated them! |
And the projects....photo |

and the achievement book! A good job all around with Maddie! |
Some testing by the teacher! |
A little fun before we headed off to find dinner and walk around a bit! |
We happened upon the rose judging and I just LOVED how they were dressed. Who could resist! I was waiting for Miss.Marple to show up knitting something woolly! |
An antler carved in the Indian Village |
A quilt from the Indian Village |
A man was showing his very large collection of milk bottles! I took photos of the one from Canton and the one from Schenectady! |
When we went off for dinner with Maddie we stopped to look at the needlework exhibit.
So cute! |
I loved this quilt! |
I took this for Maddie. She loves succulent gardens. |
Another pretty quilt |
Cowboys and Indians chess set! |
Back at the dorm....we relaxed for a bit then Maddie joined the other kids for a "dance" which turned out to be just hanging about and talking mostly. I love watching this at 4H events. These kids come from all over the state. If they are lucky they might see each other 3 times a year and yet they always manage to get along and enjoy each other's company!
Top bunk of course! |
The dance?! |
Now we are home, fed and tired! Time to unpack.....
